How We Treat Your Cockroach Infestation

1. Cockroach Inspection

Our team of pest technicians will conduct an inspection of the common harbourage points to identify what type of cockroach you’re dealing with and where they are. These common harbourage points include the kitchen, bathroom, and any other areas that you’ve seen signs of cockroaches.

Once common harbourage points have been fully inspected, our pest technicians will continue with the rest of your home. We look out for the following key signs of cockroaches:

2. Cockroach Treatment

Once our team has completed an inspection and harbourage points have been located, we begin our treatment. Our pest technicians use different products in different areas of your home to provide the most effective treatment.

If the area is non-accessible (e.g. below the kitchen cabinetry) we use repellant dust is that provides an effective ‘flushing’ effect. For treatment to the underside of basins, hinges, around appliances, and more, a non-repellent aerosol is most effective to allow the product to transfer throughout the cockroach colony.

Lastly, our pest technicians will conduct a perimeter treatment inside and outside of your home and around the skirting boards to prevent further cockroach infestations.

What products do you use to control cockroaches?

The products we use to effectively control cockroaches depend on the species of cockroach identified during your inspection.

Intrusive cockroach species (e.g. German cockroaches) are more difficult to treat and require a multi-stage process to gain control of the colony. For these species, it’s best to use a combination of non-repellent insecticides and cockroach attractant gels to provide the most effective control internally and externally.

For less intrusive cockroach species (e.g. American cockroaches), we use both repellent and non-repellent products:

• Repellent dust used in the cavity below cabinetry
• Non-repellent aerosols around plumbing fittings, hinges, drains (situation-dependent), around appliances, and other potential entry points.

The size of your cockroach infestation dictates whether a non-repellent or repellent insecticide is to be applied to the internal perimeter of your home, and a non-repellent insecticide applied externally.
